Thousand Islands has the sole landing rights to Ramsey Island RSPB Nature Reserve. A ferry boat departs daily at 10.00 and 12.00 from 1st April to 31st October. A limited number of day visitors get to explore this beautiful natural island nature reserve.
Ramsey Island is a special protection area for families of Chough, watch them feed in the short grassland.
In Spring the islands coastline is alive with hundred of nesting seabirds. Guillimots, Razorbills and Fulmar nest on the hundred metre high cliffs. Watch Peregrine Falcons and Chough fly overhead. The Island is home to one of the UK's largest Atlantic Grey Seal colonies. Hundreds of seal pups are born on Ramseys beaches from late August to October.
Harbour Porpoise feed in the fast currents in Ramsey Sound. Venture offshore to see the gannets on Grassholm Island, home to over 37,000 pairs of breeding gannets. Join our wildlife guide on a dolphin watching boat trip offshore and if you are lucky a sighting of a whale.
We run daily boat trips across St Brides to Skomer Island to watch the Puffins.
Boat trips leave from the RNLI Lifeboat Station at St Justinians which is also an interesting place to visit.
